Salvation

I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.                                                                                  l0531/m0913/k0217

[Simon Peter: Lord, dost thou wash my feet?]
What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter.
[Peter: Thou shalt never wash my feet.]
If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
[Simon Peter: Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.]
He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.                            j1306-1310

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[Nicodemus: How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?]
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born anew. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
[Nicodemus: How can these things be?]
Art thou the teacher of Israel, and understandest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and bear witness of that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you heavenly things? And no man hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, even the Son of man, which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth may in him have eternal life.                                                                                                                                                                  j0303-15

[The Disciples: Who then can be saved?]
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
[Peter: Lo, we have left all, and followed thee; what then shall we have?]
Verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.                                                 m1925-8/l1826-9,l2228-30/k1026-9

Be not afraid of them which kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows.                                                                                                                                                                     l1204-07/m1028-31

Value
How much then is a man of more value than a sheep!                                                                                                                    m1212

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows.                                                                                    l1206-7/m1029-31

See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.                                                                                                                                                    m1810-14

I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there is none greater than John: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of God is greater than he.                                                                                                                                                                     l0728/m1111
