 15 JUDGMENT & SALVATION (cont'd)

15 Salvation (cont'd)

Works and Salvation

[A certain lawyer: Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?]
What is written in the law? how readest thou?
[Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.]
Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.                                                                                 l1025-8/k1228-31/m2236-40

But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations; and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me, that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. l2228-30/m1928

Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life.                                    l1829-30/m1929/k1029-30

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds.

                                                                                                                                                                                                        m1627

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.                                     m2534-6

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.                                                                                                                                                  m1042

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.                           m1022

Forgiveness and Salvation
What reason ye in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thy house.

                                                                                                                                                                        l0522-4/k0208-11/m0902-6

Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many unto remission of sins.                      m2627-8/k1424/l2220

[To his host:] A certain lender had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. When they had not wherewith to pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?
[He, I suppose , to whom he forgave the most.]
Thou hast rightly judged.
Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath wetted my feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair. Thou gavest me no kiss: but she, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but she hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
[To the woman:] Thy sins are forgiven.
[The other guests: Who is this that even forgiveth sins?]
[To the woman:] Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.                                                                                                             l0741-50

Faith and Salvation
[To the woman who had an issue of blood:] Daughter, be of good cheer; thy faith hath made thee whole.                                    m0922

[Upon healing two blind men:] According to your faith be it done unto you.                                                                                     m0929

Peace be unto you.
[To Thomas:] Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
[Thomas: My Lord and my God.]
Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.                            j2026-9
