Perceptions of God's Word (cont'd)
Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and
hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And unto them is fulfilled
the prophesy of Isaiah, which saith,
By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand;
And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross,
And their ears are dull of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed;
Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And should turn again,
And I should heal them.

I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these
things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: ....

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. l2334
Predestination
What would ye that I should do for you?
[James and John: Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one
on thy left hand, in thy glory.]
Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I drink? or to be
baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
[We are able.]
The cup that I drink ye shall drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized
withal shall ye be baptized: but to sit on my right hand or on my left hand is
not mine to give: but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared. k1036-40/m2021-3
.... for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew
signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect.
k1322/m2424
Every plant which my heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up.
m1513
For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it
be given unto him of the Father.

The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man that sowed good seed in his field:
but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and
went away. But when the blade sprang up, and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also. And the servants of the householder came and said
unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it
tares? And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say
unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he saith, Nay;
lest haply while ye gather up the tares, ye root up the wheat with them. Let
both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will
say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to
burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
m1324-30/k0426-9
He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; and the field is the world;
and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the
sons of the evil one, and the enemy that sowed them is the devil: and the
harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels. As therefore the
tares are gathered up and burned with fire; so shall it be in the end of the
world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out
of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do iniquity, and
shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and
gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the
kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
m1337-43
And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect
from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost
part of heaven.
k1327/m2431
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and
ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came
unto me. m2534-6
